Videos
A Tim Wu classic - the sound's quite bad but the fact that we made esther believe in expecting some uber powerful magic trick and seeing tim's "magic trick" is priceless. It's also noteworthy to mention that we did the same thing to yixian last sunday. Esther's the one holding the camera so you couldnt see esther reaction, it was worth a thousand dollars, well cuz i couldnt get anyone else to video when i was busy with my prata and mutharbak (or however u spell it)...

Here's shaun and ian versus henry and jason in a game of tennis on the nitendo wii after the zone outing...

Here's the a clip of the game we played when we welcomed the bedok net - Do you love your neighbour?

New features
So yep my sister was complaining about not being able to see the previous posts so i thought that maybe i'll try to do something about that. As a safety precaution, i saved the original coding of the blog into a notepad file. Unfortunately, i made a mistake when editing the html and used this saved version of the coding to restore to the blog. To my most wonderful excitement, the whole blog failed to load after that! YAYYYY! IT BECAME A BLANK PAGE HOORAY!

Yes yes, hahahaha... Turned out that the notepad had word wrap on and gave me a helping hand in messing up the html. So ya, i recoded the stuff as much as i could and added in a few goodies on the navigation bar (or whatever you wish to call it) on the right. So ya, now we have the recent posts, archives as well as some spiffy traffic tracking and analysis software that lets kaypohs (like me) know what word people typed into google to trample onto our blog, which net member's blog helps to generate the most traffic to the net blog, how many people visited today and blah blah blah... Go check it out yourself... =D Yup, and i'm currently working on putting up the links for all the videos we've shot, past and present hahaha! So ya, watch out for it. =D AND YES, WE NEED MORE PPL TO JOIN THE BLOG COMMITTEE! I wanna slack can? hahaha... *bugs sylvia*

Send picture first

So we have stopped evaluating others by what the world thinks about them. Once I mistakenly thought of Christ that way, as though he were merely a human being. How differently I think about him now!” (2 Corinthians 5:16 NLT)

“Send picture first, then I’ll reply” – This is a pretty common message among the personal ads, and in this age of alienation and e-community, it makes a lot of sense to approach any unknown relationship with care and caution.

But let me ask this question: When it comes to real love – real as opposed to some fantasy-romantic love – do you find yourself saying, “Send picture first?”

We may say it in different ways. For instance, we may say, think, or judge: “I have to see if you’re good enough.” “I’m not sure you’re worthy of my love.” “You need to act the way I expect before I’ll love you.”

And, for a moment, forget the unknown people in our lives. We often make these judgments about the people closest to us, our loved ones.

In our walk with Christ, the Apostle Paul instructs us to stop judging people according to the flesh (2 Corinthians 5), which is a King Jamesion way of saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover or other people by appearances.” To paraphrase Paul: “We don't evaluate people by what they have or how they look. We looked at the Messiah that way once and got it all wrong, as you know. We certainly don't look at him that way anymore. Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new ….” (2 Corinthians 5:16b-17a MSG)

Now, let me ask you a pointed question, one I’m also asking myself today: When it comes to loving God, do you find yourself saying, “Send picture first?”

My own answer to that is “Ouch!”

Yet, God in his grace did send a picture first – the picture of Jesus, his body broken and stretched out on the cross, dying for your sins. Even as we had yet to send our picture, God sent his picture first. (That’s my paraphrase of Romans 5:8 – “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” NIV)

The thing is, while we’re actively engaged in a passive love – saying, “You send your picture first” – God already is setting a place for you at the banquet table. We’re sticking our toes in the water to see if the warmth invites us enough to risk rejection. Yet, God in his grace invites us to the wedding feast, where we are guaranteed to be accepted among his beloved.

So what?

· God takes the initiative – God is reaching out to you, and he’s already provided the means for you to come into a close, lasting relationship with him. The king invites us to a wedding feast in honor of his Son! (Matthew 22)

· What pictures are you sending – When you are timid or uncertain in seeking or responding to God, you are passively saying, “You go first God. Send me a picture of what this looks like before I decide if I’m going to do it.” Are you sending God pictures of disobedience, faith-lessness, luke warm attitudes, a refusal to accept his grace? “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8 NIV).

· What does God look like? – Here’s one likeness of him: “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us ….” (1 John 3:16a NIV)

The hard work of getting along

“Let us agree to use all our energy in getting along with each other.” (Romans 14:19a MSG)

If you have children, you’ll know exactly what I mean: Some days you look into their faces, and you see the attitudes of angels; on other days you want to scream, “Why can’t you just get along!” as they get into a ridiculous argument about who moved a toy 1/32nd of an inch.

Sometimes these opposite attitudes shift back and forth six times in five minutes!

But let me ask you this: Do you think God ever looks at us – we adults, believers in community together – and sighs, “Why can’t my children just get along?’”

There are dozens of reasons we don’t get along with each other – with the sin of pride right at the top of the list. But I think another huge reason we fail to live in authentic, consistent, committed Christian community is because it’s too hard.

It requires real effort to work through our differences, to remain transparent and honest, to confront and to pay close attention to each other. Frankly, it’s easier to keep relationships superficial, to “demonize” one another when we don’t agree, to cut and run at the first sign of trouble rather than commit to each other.

Yet God placed within us a need for “stick-with-it” commitments; his commitment to us is unbreakable, and he wants to see us extend the same commitment to each other (2 Corinthians 8:5). But this kind of commitment takes time – something that has become far too scarce in our lives today (and that, my friend, is a choice).

God knows we will live in a healthy, Christian community if we will commit to living our lives together beyond our weekly meetings, if we will make each other a priority - sharing our lives over coffee, after work, at the ballpark, in the hospital.

The only way for us to become a “friend who sticks closer than a brother” (Proverbs 18:24) is when we focus on the quality of our relationships, not mere quantity or mere acquaintances.

“You can develop a healthy, robust community that lives right with God and enjoy its results only if you do the hard work of getting along with each other, treating each other with dignity and honor.” (James 3:18 MSG, Emphasis mine)

So what?

· Love no matter what

How can you plan to help others at all times, not just when it’s convenient? (Proverbs 17:17)
How can you develop a strategy for loving others at their worst, not just when they seem lovable? (Romans 5:8)

· Show up – The most basic behavior of commitment is simply showing up. “If you care, you’ll be there.” You may be surprised that your mere presence is a source of encouragement. (Hebrews 10:25)

· Intentional commitments – Other than your spouse, have you ever told someone else, “I will always be there for you”? This week, establish an intentional commitment with another believer. Approach the Spirit’s choice and bless that person by saying, “I want to grow close to you as a friend.”

If still not sure, here's a rough guide:

Alight at Tanah Merah MRT Station..
Take a escalator down and turn right then take the escalator up again..
Turn to your left and you'll see a walkway in the middle of the field..
Follow that walkway all the way to the pedestrain crossing and continue all the way to the terrace houses..
Yixian's place is the house on the right that's next to the road. No. 35..

Another point to note is that, each person'll have to pay $5.
